Question: Should I upgrade to Microsoft Vista, allot of people are telling me that it is junk. I have a business and I need my computers to work properly day in and day out.

Answer: There is no real yes no answer. The things to take into consideration is will your hardware work with the new Vista. Your answer is here. Another consideration is will your external devices such as a printer, scanner or PDA device work with Vista and are there device drivers for all of them. Your best bet would be to download and run the Download Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor.

LAS VEGAS - A 150-inch high-definition plasma TV unveiled by Panasonic is the world's largest to date, the Japanese consumer electronics company claimed Monday at the International Consumer Electronics Show.

The plasma panel features an 8.84 million pixel image resolution. Its screen is the equivalent of nine 50-inch sets, with an effective viewing area of 11 feet, the company said. It's a step up from Panasonic's 103-inch version, which cost $70,000 when it launched. The company did not say in a news release how much the 150-inch panel will cost.

Panasonic's other prototypes introduced at CES include a 42-inch panel that uses half the energy but stays as bright as its predecessor, and an ultra-thin 50-inch panel that is less an inch thick, the company said.

Both plasma and LCD TVs have been selling well in the U.S. as consumers are switching out their old tube sets so they can watch high-definition TV and movies.

Panasonic also said it plans to bring videos from Google Inc.'s YouTube directly to its line of Internet-enabled high-definition plasma TV sets. The new Viera HDTVs also provide access to Google's photo sharing site, Picasa.

Panasonic is a unit of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.

New Rules for Spouses who operate a business together

Spouses who operate a business together have a new option for reporting their business income. In the past, husband and wife joint owners were considered a partnership for reporting purposes.  New Rules, which took effect this year, give spouses the option of reporting their business income as two separate sole proprietorships.

Filing as two sole proprietorships reduces the number of returns that are required while reporting the income from the business just as before.  The income and expenses from the business are allocated to each spouse based on their respective ownership interest.  In most cases, income and expenses are split equally.  Each spouse will report their share of the net earnings and pay self-employment tax total.

There are a few key points to consider before making this election.  First, the spouses must files a joint return. Second, the spouses can be the only owners of the business.  Third, each spouse must agree to the treatment as sole proprietorships. And lastly, both spouse must materially participate in the trade or business.
